The Envelope Is Here

On Wednesday, May 28, 2014 Brianne's mission call came in the mail.  We didn't think it would come this early and so it was a great surprise when I went to the mailbox.  Jaxsen had 6th grade graduation and Ali had soccer tryouts that night so we didn't open the mission call until 8:30 p.m.  We invited family and friends to join us.  We also Skyped with my mom and dad because they are still in Poland on their mission.  It was an exciting time.

We had each of the family members choose one state side mission guess and one over-seas mission guess.  It was fun to see where everyone guessed.

The moment of truth:

Sister Mortensen:

You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  You are assigned to labor in the Philippines Tacloban Mission.

You should report to the Provo Missionary Training Center on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.  You will prepare to teach the gospel in the Cebuano language.

Sincerely,

Thomas S Monson

Where is the Philippines?

Less than 2 months to get ready!  You will make a great missionary Brianne!

**A Side Note**

Josh (Bri's brother) and Brad (Bri's dad) both guessed the Philippines.  Brad said he felt inspired for his guess.  Josh guessed the Philippines because that is where Lyndsey Estes is serving her mission.  Brayden (Bri's older brother) and Lyndsey's older sister Brooke both served in the Raleigh North Carolina mission.  Another fun fact...Brad replaced Bishop Estes (Lyndsey and Brookes dad) as Bishop this past November.   We aren't sure why, but our families have cool family connections.  It's a good thing we love the Estes family!!!!!
